It debut with the Airbus A380. SIA, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas and Virgin Atlantic have also selected Trent-powered A380s. A diameter of 116 inches, the Trent 900 is physically the largest engine ever built by Rolls-Royce. It is also the world’s cleanest large turbofan engine, measured by emissions per pound of thrust. | GP7000 Engine: Being developed by the Alliance, a 50/50 joint venture between GE and Pratt & Whitney, the GP7000 will deliver unprecedented performance, reliability, and customer value to future Airbus A380 operators. Derived from the two most sucessful wide-body engine programs the GE90 and PW4000 the GP7000 is expected to deliver unpresidented performace, reliablity, environmental levels and value. The GP7200 will initially certify at 76,500 lb. (340 kN) of thrust and subsequently at 81,500 lb. (363 kN) of thrust. The GP7000 will offer 2 variants for various A380 configurations and take off weights.
